Heartland Forest

Heartland Forest is a barrier-free nature experience with the goal of preserving and educating.  Open from 9 a.m. to dusk, this nature experience welcomes visitors year round. Free to the public.  Donations accepted.

This nature experience is driven by volunteers and donations and is a registered charitable organization. Old and young alike enjoy our accessible trails and facilities on 93 acres of protected forest and wetlands. Currently over 18,000 people access Heartland Forest Nature Experience each year making it a much loved resource in Niagara.

 Facilities include trails, fishing pond, picnic shelters, informative signage, butterfly garden, observation and rest stations, playground, larger than life animal carvings, barrier-free mini-putt and one of the largest tree-houses in Canada which offers a panoramic view of the forest.

Natural Features include frog and turtle ponds, rich Carolinian forest which features vernal pools and a rich inventory of unique species of birds, trees, and amphibians.
